High Performance Aerial and Terrestrial Surveillance Systems Utilizing Digital Imaging Technology
San Diego, CA and Rochester, NY - Redlake and Geospatial Systems announced a strategic alliance to focus on high performance aerial and terrestrial surveillance systems for military and commercial applications including terrain mapping systems, perimeter security systems, tactical situational awareness systems for urban deployment, and defense and commercial environmental assessment.
Under this collaboration, Redlake and Geospatial will co-develop instruments with optical, radar, and software capability that enable geo-referenced aerial mapping and surveillance, real-time target detection and identification. These products are based on a core set of technologies developed as a modular set of building blocks which can easily be configured to meet specific customer application requirements.
“Partnering is a strategic imperative for companies such as Redlake and Geospatial to address the ever-expanding imaging marketplace,” said Rob Samuelsen, president of Redlake. Samuelsen further added: “Forming a strategic alliance with Geospatial enables us to combine resources so we can deliver on those requirements with value-added, industry leading imaging solutions.”
“High-end commercial and government imaging customers demand systems that are built upon the best technologies available,” said William Kent, president of Geospatial Systems. “Together, Geospatial Systems and Redlake have unparalleled technology depth, and through the joint development and other collaborative efforts, we will be able to address these needs with even higher quality systems and innovative solutions.” said Dr. Kent.
Geo-referenced aerial mapping and surveillance are central elements of imaging information infrastructures, and the performance and quality of these products will have a major impact on network systems overall. This is especially true for security systems that will play a vital and essential role in determining the overall threat level.
