Geospatial Systems, Inc. Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Rochester, NY - Geospatial Systems, Inc. today announced the appointment of Maxime Elbaz as President and Chief Executive Officer.

His educational background in engineering and business, coupled with over 20 years of leadership experience in remote sensing, geospatial, and high tech industries, makes Elbaz the ideal choice to lead Geospatial Systems. Dr. Gerald F. Ross, Geospatial System’s Chairman, said “Max provides the strategic vision, leadership and industry expertise we need to execute our growth plan in the geospatial market. He has a proven record of helping organizations expand globally.”

“Geospatial Systems has a prominent position in the aerial imaging market and a strong commitment to product innovation with state of the art hardware systems, and I look forward to building on this extensive foundation,” said Elbaz. “There is tremendous potential to expand into the mapping and persistent surveillance markets, and I am excited to begin this new venture with our talented technical team.”

Elbaz also emphasized the importance of fostering client relationships. “A company’s success is determined by the relationship with its customers. It is crucial to understand the requirements of each customer in order to develop their most appropriate solution.”

Prior to joining Geospatial Systems, Inc., Elbaz served as Chief Operating Officer of EarthData International, Inc. (EDI), where he managed their operations including sales and worldwide business development initiatives. In this position, he contributed to the acquisition of EDI by Fugro N.V, where he was subsequently appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager of Fugro EarthData, Inc. He also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of KGI, Inc., a former Kodak subsidiary specializing in geospatial systems. Prior to that, Elbaz served as General Manager of an Underwriters Laboratories’ Environmental Restricted Substances Business Unit, where he orchestrated the business expansion into Asian markets.

Originally from France, Elbaz holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Rochester’s William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration (N.Y., USA) and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Louis Pasteur University (Strasbourg, France).
